Start with the wall’s centre line and fixed elements such as doors, windows and built-in furniture. Divide the available area into panels before choosing profile width. The design will be easier to read.
Leave room around the composition
Frames need space from corners, skirting boards and cornices. Even gaps bring order, though small visual adjustments may help when furniture covers part of the design.
Make a full-scale test
Use painter’s tape to mark each proposed line. Look at the wall in daylight and evening light. This simple trial lets you adjust dimensions before installation.
